Cape Town International Airport had a thorough upgrade in recent years, and as a result offers word-class service, facilities and customs.

There are a number of international airlines flying to and from Cape Town, including South African Airlines (SAA), British Airlines and Emirates.  

Smaller airlines offering affordable local flights include Kulula, 1Time and Mango, which fly to all major cities across South Africa.

Cape Town’s public transport system is still developing, so rail services are not always reliable and trains can often be delayed.

The roads are dominated by mini-bus taxis, which are seen everywhere in Cape Town and the rest of South Africa. Travelling by mini-bus taxis is very cheap and mostly safe, but can be somewhat daunting as they travel at great speeds across the city to get to their destinations as quickly as possible.

Private taxis or cabs are also on offer, and are ideal for shorter journeys - especially around the city centre. These taxis can be expensive for longer journeys, but are reliable and easy to use.

Another cheap transport method in Cape Town is Rikki taxis, which offer quick and easy transportation around the city and surrounds.
