Mombo Camp – renowned for having what is arguably the best big-game viewing in Botswana – lies within the Moremi Game Reserve on the northern tip of Chief’s Island, the largest landmass in the Okavango Delta. The sheer number and variety of large mammals here all year round defy description: from elephant and buffalo to tiny steenbok; large numbers of herbivores are followed by their predators in equal measure: lion, leopard and cheetah.

Mombo Camp is built under large, shady trees and overlooks an open floodplain alive with wildlife. Accommodation comprises nine spacious tents raised up to two metres off the ground with breathtaking views over the plains; the sala, long veranda and lounge area all take advantage of such vistas. Bathrooms are en-suite, with indoor and outdoor showers. There is a boma for delicious star-lit dinners and a plunge pool to relax in on hot days.

Mombo Camp features nine luxury tented rooms. Every suite is raised off the ground with connecting walkways. This allows the wildlife to roam freely through the camp. Every room is comfortably furnished with well-appointed safari-style furniture and features an en suite bathroom, plus an additional outdoor shower. Each tent also has a large private veranda and sala where guests may enjoy the wildlife in privacy and relax.

Little Mombo has an additional three rooms, but being separated from the main camp offers an even more secluded and private experience. Mombo Camp features full bar and dining facilities. The main lodge also has a swimming pool and a curio shop.
