Carefully restored by Sanctuary Lodges & Camps to preserve its turn-of-the-century elegance, Chichele Presidential Lodge is approached through a majestic arched entrance leading to a huge colonial-style lounge. Its long terrace, with commanding views across the valleys of the South Luangwa, is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea. Chichele has 10 air-conditioned suites, each with French doors leading onto individual balconies overlooking the Luangwa valley.

The lodge is accessible all year around and is the ideal base from which to explore the prolific wildlife that populates the mosaic of different habitats surrounding the Luangwa River. Game drives by day or night in the lodge’s customized 4x4 vehicles are an ideal way to explore the South Luangwa National Park – an area famed for its frequent leopard sightings. This part of Zambia is also renowned for being the original home of the walking safari.
