The shallow waters of the KwaZulu Natal North Coast often attract large pods of dolphins who swim close to shore in order to feed.   For this reason the North Coast is also often referred to as the Dolphin Coast.
    
Beautiful beaches, rocky coves and shallow paddling pools make the towns along the North Coast popular for holidaymakers who are attracted to their friendly village atmosphere.
