The Zululand area of KwaZulu Natal is rich in cultural and historical significance, and is also well-known for its game viewing and Big Five African safaris.

Driving north from the Tugela River, toward the oldest town in Zululand, Eshowe, with its lush forests, the landscape is dotted with Zulu villages and kraals, many of the inhabitants still following the traditional Zulu way of life.

It was here in Zululand that Shaka, King of the Zulus, forged his powerful Zulu Kingdom towards the end of the 18th century, and here that the last battle of the Anglo-Zulu War was fought near Ulundi....
