Ludertiz has an unusual array of historical German-style buildings which were built during the diamond rush in the area. These buildings are set around the sparkling bay and lend a unique character to the town.

One of the best views of the town is from the peninsula that sticks out into the bay. To the south of Luderitz is Dias Point, where you will find a replica of the cross first erected there in 1488 by Portuguese navigator Bartholomeu Dias.

There are a number of things to see in and around Luderitz. On a tour of the town you can visit the Lutheran Felsenkirche, and the stately Goerke Haus on Diamond Hill with its beautiful sun-dial, art deco interiors and stained glass windows.

A visit to the Luderitz Museum in Diaz Street is worthwhile. The museum....
